Law school is demanding, and everyone deserves moments to relax, laugh, and make memories outside of tutorials. This year, we’re launching brand-new socials designed to mix fun, sun, and laughter.

The JD Day Trip is a chance for our JD cohort to escape the lecture halls for a day of sunshine, good food, drinks, and casual bonding. From coastal walks at Watsons Bay to picnic-style hangouts at Manly, it’s a perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with friends.

We’re also introducing the SULS Beach Bash, a full-day summer social to kick off the semester. Expect volleyball on the sand, a BBQ feast, chilled drinks, music to set the vibe, and picnic setups for everyone. To finish off, a beach bar afters will keep the energy going while watching the sunset. It’s an inclusive, laid-back day designed for fun in the sun with your SULS community.

Welcome Back Parties are getting a makeover. Semester 1 brings rooftop sunset views and happy hour drinks to ease back into the semester, while Semester 2 promises bold themes, DJs, and a lively dance floor to get everyone moving.

Law Cruise will sail into 2025 bigger and better. We’re increasing capacity, speeding up boarding, and adding multiple bars to keep drinks flowing. Sailing in April ensures warmer weather, golden-hour photos, and a stunning harbour backdrop for a night of unforgettable fun.

Law Ball will combine elegance and energy. Cinematic photography, a 360 photo booth, and a cinematic aftermovie will capture every moment. Afters will cater to all vibes. Students can choose the lively party or a chill lounge to wind down in style.

First Year Camp is all about connection and adventure. A weekend-long point-based competition will run alongside daytime bonding activities, while a chill common area with board games and movies ensures there’s something for everyone. Upgraded venues and thoughtful planning guarantee a weekend first-years will never forget.

Halloween: Fright Night 2.0 is going bigger than ever, open to other faculties and universities, featuring themed décor, creative costumes, and prizes for solo, couple, and group outfits. With convenient afters, this night will be full of energy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

We know navigating the social calendar can feel overwhelming, so we’re making it easy, inclusive, and engaging. Cohort chats, social media updates, and active committee support ensure everyone knows what’s happening and has a voice in shaping the events.

Tickets will remain transparent and affordable, with a clear breakdown of costs and financial support where needed. Non-alcoholic options and chill spaces at all events ensure that socials are enjoyable for everyone, whether you’re partying hard or taking a more relaxed approach.

We are also looking to bring back the socials committee and we are looking for a group of enthusiastic students who are interested in the behind the scenes planning and coordination of your favourite social events!

Our goal is simple. SULS socials should be fun, memorable, and accessible. Whether you’re on a sun-drenched beach, dancing on a rooftop, or sailing on Sydney Harbour, there’s a space for every student to celebrate, connect, and create memories that last beyond law school.
